Some of the paperwork required includes the following;

  • Gas plumbers need to be Gas Safe registered with updated renewals.
  • Electricians need to be NICEIC registered contractors.
  • Contractors require a waste carrier licence to remove bulky waste from the site.
  • Landscaping gardeners require training in pesticide spraying and have obtained a esticide spraying license. Extra qualifications are required if spraying near a river.
  • Contractors using a cherry picker require an IPAF qualification.

Contractors who are accredited with CHAS, SAFE Contractor or similar Health and Safety accreditation schemes give their clients reassurance from the outset that they understand the procedures required to ensure their staff and customers are kept safe while working on site.

All of these qualification and certifications assist with picking the correct contractor for the job at hand.

We provide them with a clear specification of works and liaise closely to check the work is delivered to your timescale and budget.

If the works required are specialist, then we may need to instruct external surveyors to specify the works and manage the tender and works contract.

We also check to ensure contractors have the relevant insurance including Public Liability (PL).

PL protects against injury or death of third party persons, or damage to third party property, from incidents arising as a result of your business activities.
