Assistant Property Manager (Block Manager)

The Job Role

Your role will be to assist the property managers in managing a portfolio of properties and to undertake the co-ordination of minor works. Your duties will include liaising with leaseholders, contractors and surveyors, dealing with the administration of minor works processes and general administration duties such as answering telephone calls, dealing with correspondence and updating records.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, will have an aptitude for learning and undergo training, and the company will support you in obtaining industry qualifications (via ARMA, IRPM and associated seminars & courses). Salary is £17,000 – £22,000, plus bonus and opportunity to progress.

The Job Role Skills and experience

  • At least 6 months’ experience of working within the property industry (e.g. developers/ surveyors / block management) is preferred, and a basic knowledge of accounts and bookkeeping.
  • Excellent eye for detail, good customer service and IT skills.
    Professional telephone manner and appearance.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work with your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral).

Salary is £18,000 – £24,000, plus bonus and opportunity to progress.

Experienced Property Manager (Block Manager)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual seeking genuine career progression within the sector. Ongoing professional development will be provided (via ARMA, IRPM and associated seminars & courses).

Job Specification:

The successful applicant will have good experience of residential block management including experience of setting service charge budgets, site visits, contractor management, Section 20 Consultations, dealing with insurance claims, and chairing AGMs.

Skills and attributes:

  • Professional outlook – experience of working in a reputable, preferably ARMA or RICS regulated organisation.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable (e.g. IRPM/property management related degree).
  • At least 5 years Experience of managing a dedicated portfolio of properties, ability to manage own workload.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral).

Salary will be assessed according to experience but is expected to fall in the region of £32,000 to £38,000 plus bonus.

Office hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch. You may occasionally be required to attend AGMs after work to take minutes, and will be paid for any time in addition to your salary.

Holiday entitlement of 22 days plus bank holidays (increasing with length of service). Please note that a driving licence is required, and business mileage costs will be reimbursed.
