Southdowns Park
Southdowns Park was originally built as a hospital in 1854 and closed in 1995. It is a beautiful grade II listed building which has been converted into 200 apartments. The building has lovely gardens and offers stunning countryside views of the South Downs National Park.
This is another lovely development we enjoy managing. It is large and complex and requires care and attention to detail. There are 19 service charge schedules, 20 communal electric meters and water for all the apartments is a service charge item.
The external decorations were long overdue and there were issues commencing it with the previous managing agent. The first thing we did when appointed was to instruct a new surveying firm who have lots of experience working with heritage buildings and large-scale projects. With their expertise and our management experience, we have now completed the tendering of the major works. The works will start in early spring 2019 and should take 5 months to complete.
Once the works are complete, long term maintenance plans will be put in place to ensure the building is managed efficiently and funds are in place where required.
